Trussville Parks and Recreation offers a variety of recreation opportunities.  We have several centers located throughout the city in which to meet the recreational needs of the community.

Trussville Athletic Center

  • Activities - activities at the Athletic Center include youth and adult basketball leagues as well as adult flag football and adult softball.  The flag football league is an 18 and up league and our softball leagues include men' s open, women's open and co-ed.  The Athletic Center is the old Junior High located on Parkway Drive. For information regarding any of these leagues please call 661-3777.

Cherokee Center

  • Activities - activities at the Cherokee Center include youth basketball and adult volleyball.  The adult volleyball league is co-ed and it is played according to competitive rules.  It is also an 18 and up league.  We also hold special events at the center.  The Cherokee Center is located at the old elementary school on Cherokee Drive.  For information regarding any of the activities taking place at the Cherokee Center please call 661-3777 or 655-0370.

Trussville Sports Complexes

  • Baseball Fields - eight (8) fields - ages three to adult play on these fields with approximately 1,000 players in summer and all leagues.      

 

  • Girls Softball Fields - six (6) fields - ages six to eighteen play on these fields with approximately 350 participating in summer and fall leagues. 

 

  • Soccer Fields - four (4) - ages six to adult play on these fields. There is a summer and fall season with around 750 participating in this program.  

 

  • Football - one (1) - around 125 children play on this field and around 125 girls participate in the Cheerleading program. 

 

The Trussville Racquet Club is a tennis facility that consists of six (6) hard courts, six (6) clay courts and a full service pro shop. A Certified Tennis Pro oversees operation of the tennis center. Tennis programs are available for all ages.  For more Information please call 661-0861.

 There are over four (4) miles of biking and walking trails also available in the Sports Complex.

 

Trussville Public Pool and Splash Park

The city pool is located at 219 Parkway Drive.  The pool and splash park are only open to Trussville residents.  Both are open from May until August.  For more information, call 661-0490 or 661-3777. The pool will open May 17th this year.  Check the bottom of this page for the official flyer with all the pool information on it.



Trussville Senior Citizen Center

The City of Trussville has a first class Senior Center.  The Senior Center is only for people ages 60 and up. There are many activities that take place there including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Exercise classes with moderate work-out facility
  • Trips
  • Seminars - with occasional guest speakers
  • Lunches
  • Games
  • Dances
  • Fellowship
